Dieting By Larry John I think that diets are interesting. I have been on hundreds of diets. Sometimes we call them programs or routines or even a “lifestyle” change in the way we eat. But regardless of what you call them, they are diets. What is curious to me is how most of us go on diets. One “way” is the Monday diet. You say on Friday that on Monday you are going to start your diet. So what do you do Saturday and Sunday? You eat as much as you can on Saturday and Sunday so you won’t feel so deprived on Monday. You eat more calories in two days than you would normally eat in a week. The second is the “Now I am Full Diet.” That means that you decide to go on a diet when you are so full you can’t sit up straight. It starts with something like this, “That’s it…I am going on a diet. I can’t keep eating like this.” You normally stay on this diet until you are hungry again. That’s why we say…Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we… DIET! Think about it. |
