How’s the Weather?

by Larry John

Why is it that we love to talk about the weather? Some of the most typical phrases that follow, “Hello. How are you?” are: “Man it’s hot! Wow it is really windy today. We really need rain. I can’t believe how much it is raining. What about those tropical storms in the Caribbean? It was really cool and nice this morning wasn’t it?  I sure love the cloud cover. Man, the skies are so clear today. It was a foggy morning, wasn’t it? I can’t believe how cool it is for this time of year. I sure wish we could get some rain. I love the first snowstorm of the year. The snow was so deep we couldn’t take the kids to school. We could sure use some more sun shine.” Yep… we love to talk about the weather… but why? Is the only thing we have in common with others the weather? It certainly is better than, “Hello how are you? What do you think the meaning of life is?”  So even though most things change, talking about the weather will always be at the top of the conversation chart. So… how’s the weather? Think about it.
