I’ve Got Mail by Larry John
My computer has me held captive….SAVE ME! OK…it’s not all that bad, but some days I think that my computer and I are joined at the hip. I mean, I find it hard to leave my computer for even a few minutes… what if I get an email while I’m gone? And I don’t know what to do unless I have my computer’s day planner and companion palm pilot program telling me what to do everyday. Many times, I sit in front of my computer for hours: searching, emailing, organizing, and downloading. And I can’t stop. I even take it on trips and vacations with me like a family member. Why? I was listening to an interview with Gene Hackman on Larry King Live and did you know that neither Gene Hackman nor Larry King have a cell phone or know how to use a computer? They don’t even know how to email. And they don’t get why everyone else is so obsessive about it. Computers and Cell phones were created to make life easier. But do we own them….or do they own us? Think about it. |
