Old Furniture

by Larry John

We all know that “one man’s treasure is another man’s trash.” My son loves to go to auctions. It could be an animal auction, furniture auction, office auction, or a “just junk” auction. He loves to tell me…”See all that stuff over there. I bought all that for $20.” And he’s right… you can really get a lot of treasures or trash for $20 at one of these auctions. I just laugh and say, “Yep that’s a lot of stuff you will throw away someday.” My wife and I just cleaned out a few of the rooms in our home. We put all the junk in our garage and told family and friends they could have whatever they wanted. It was just junk to us, but within two days it was all gone . . . it was treasure to others. When I go to an antique store and see all the people oogling and ogling over these antiques, I just laugh and say this is just OLD furniture! (That doesn’t go over very well).  Old becomes new and new becomes old and the beat goes on.  Think about it.
