One Opinion at a Time by Larry John
Last night my wife and I were out with some friends and we started to talk about politics. We talked about Iraq, Bush and Kerry, the Economy, and Gas prices. And then my friend said, “So what?” “What do you mean, so what?” I blurted out. “That’s right”, he said, “So what! I don’t think that anything we think really matters one bit. Our opinions don’t make any difference whatsoever.” And in the immediate “big picture” - perhaps he’s right. But I believe that thinking makes a difference. We change this world one opinion at a time. I can change my life by changing my thinking. No one thought that democracy could work until a few people started talking and thinking about the possibilities. It may happen slowly, but thinking changes the world. So one thing for sure… I don’t want to stop thinking. Think about it.
