Paramount Ideals by Larry John
I make 100% of my political decisions based on ideology. For me it is much easier to see a clear picture of the “results or effects” of my thinking when I start with a basic political ideology. With a recognizable basis, I can then evaluate the issue in question. For example, if I start with the fundamental political conviction that liberty and “freedom of choice” is paramount; it is easier to express my views on hard issue questions like gun laws, abortion, gay marriages, church and state, and the drug war. Now in no way does my fundamental political ideology mean that I agree on the “results” that may occur when you allow people to choose. In my “opinion” a lot of people make stupid decisions when given the opportunity. But based on my ideology, I can’t compromise on the fact that FREEDOM of choice is paramount! I believe that humans have the right to choose; the right to make good AND bad decisions…that is, of course, as long as those decisions don’t hurt anyone else. If they want to hurt themselves…well, personal responsibility is a hard thing to accept. Think about it.
