That’s Obscene by Larry John
It is hard for me to believe that we have allowed a few non-elected people at the Federal Communications Commission to decide for us what is obscene and what is not obscene. The common definition of obscenity is “You will know when you see it or hear it.” Well I have yet to meet two people who see or hear the same thing and agree upon what is obscene and what is not. Tell us the “rules” and we will follow them but shouldn’t society have a say? Why have we allowed a few politically appointed people at the F.C.C. to decide the policies and rules regarding the definitions of obscenity? Freedom of expression is hard for us to agree upon, but most of us agree… it’s a must have…or is that too obscene? Think about it.
