The Observer and the Observee

by Larry John

About ten years ago I wrote an article called “The Observer and the Observee.” It explored how we humans have the ability to actually see, evaluate, and judge ourselves as the Observer while at the same time being the Observed. We can look at ourselves and our actions as if we were studying someone who was an entirely different person than ourselves. We can look in the mirror and see ourselves from the outside… in. We can love or hate ourselves based on the opinion of the Observer. And yet we are both the Observer and the Observee. Our opinion of ourselves may be influenced by what others may think of us, but the opinion that really counts is the opinion we have of ourselves. All of us are quantum beings, able to be in two places or two people at the same time. We are the Observer …watching and evaluating ourselves…while at the same time… we are the person who is being observed. The question is…do you like what you observe? Think about it.
