Where are the Statesmen?

by Larry John

The more I know about the world of politics the more I am sure that money and personal gain are the only “real” motives for most politicians. I think that most politicians start out really wanting to make a difference, but after a very short period of time they see how their “office” can make money, for themselves and for their friends… and more money for their friends means more money, power, and influence for them. I look forward to the time, should it ever be possible, when we really have “statesmen” representing us who care about human kind and serving the “public” rather than “politicians” who serve no one but themselves and their own pocket books. I think the only way to change the people in politics is to take politics out of the people. This will mean limiting time in office and the amount of money a person can make in office and after office, either directly or indirectly, as result of their time in office.  Think about it.
